These images display good example of soft or custom Roman Blinds, chose a drapery fabric and add a very stylish element to any room- including the bathroom! I’ve taken these images from Pinterest which can be a great source of inspiration.

My tips for a successful soft Roman would be;

Run stripes vertically unless the window is smaller than the width of the fabric, only then is a horizontal stripe possible

Slightly oversize Roman blinds and fit on the face – as kitchen image. When tucked in the reveal the control cord is hard to access when the blind is down – note bathroom blind.

Decide if fabric is to be a feature or a softer version of the wall colour, kitchen stripe vs bathroom green

Opt for chain drive or heavy duty cord locks – soft Roman Blinds are generally heavier than the standard polyester ones so good controls are important

We have a good range of Wortley fabrics and some Warwick fabrics available in the Showroom at Newcastle West – but if you have a favourite fabric, just supply and we are happy to have it made up into a soft Roman Blind
